When we last checked the allowable storage was 200Gb and the allowable monthly bandwidth was an astonishing 2TB! And these peaks are continually growing the longer you spend with them.
Another amazing benefit is the unlimited domain and sub-domain hosting that is allowed. That is a rare feature at the price level offered by Dreamhost.
All this for $7.95 per month on a 2 year contract.
Performance? Yes, there have been reports of some disruption to service due to "growing pains" at Dreamhost, but we have never experienced them. They seem to be limited to specific servers: just the usual shared server problems when somebody else on your server gets a DNS attack or misbehaves, perhaps? All shared hosting services can get caught off guard by that from time to time.
Dreamhost has a unique custom management interface. Some people who are used to standard interfaces don't like that. It took us maybe an hour to get the hang of the Dreamhost set up. From then on it was just so easy. You don't even need your own FTP package, for example, as there is one built in. The "goodies" include the usual Wordpress set up and much more besides ... the usual free solutions you get on most hosts. Extra advantages include the likes of Rails: Dreamhost seems to be well up with the leading edge developments for those who want them.
We found Dreamhost are very easy to deal with and highly efficient.
